Description : The confocal Leica SP5 upright microscope is equipped with a MaiTai laser for multiphoton acquisitions, providing intrinsic 3D resolution. This decreases photo-bleaching and photo-toxicity and allows deep penetration in thick samples. The microscope is equipped with AOBS system in place of dichroic mirrors for higher illumination efficiency. It is appropriate for deep imaging, for example Drosophila embryonic brain, or for photo-manipulation (photo-activation and photo-ablation).
